The Product Owner represents the business and the Scrum Master protects and shields the Dev team from crazy Product Owners and rogue business types who know nothing about software. And this works, but, what if the business understands software completely, the dev team understands the business absolutely, and everyone knows that the number one thing to have happen is increase velocity and solve real customer jobs to be done. There is no friction. There is only momentum, with the occasional grease from a Scrum Master or Product Owner here and there. This is the goal of Scrum. An offensive, company wide, team approach, rather than a defensive, development survival tactic.
