Your company should deliver the life you intended
If you're running the company you founded and you're not getting the time, profit, and autonomy you expected, you're not alone. The company grows, complexity grows, and the "freedom business" quietly becomes a high-responsibility job with a nice title.
I know this loop personally. I spent years choosing to carry too much and paying for it in stress, health, and relationships, until I admitted the approach wasn't working and committed to building an operating cadence that didn't depend on me. Over 5 years, I applied Metronomics in my own company and moved from reactive chaos to consistent execution: profits up 4x, real cash reserves, my weekly involvement reduced from 60+ hours to under 10 strategic hours, and a business that could operate successfully without me. In year 30 we sold at a premium multiple with no earn-out or employment clause. The team still runs and grows the business today.
What you're facing
Execution is inconsistent. Priorities shift, accountability is fuzzy, and important work loses to urgency. You're carrying too much, the team isn't moving without you, and every initiative risks being replaced by the next "urgent" thing.
You solve everyone's problems, and by solving them they quietly become yours. The work becomes yours, the dependency deepens, and the business learns that progress runs through you. When results depend on your attention, your memory, and your willpower, you don't have a motivation problem. You have a structural problem.
What you want instead
A business that produces predictable results without requiring heroics from you. Priorities that get closed, stay closed, and become the foundation for what follows — clear owners, visible commitments, and a cadence that keeps the whole company pointed in the same direction.
What this engagement is
This is implementation coaching for founders who want the business to execute independently and deliver what they want, quarter over quarter, with less and less time required from them. We install the operating cadence that makes execution reliable, then protect it until it becomes normal.
This isn't lifestyle coaching, pep talks, or open-ended advisory. If you want reflection and encouragement, this won't be a fit. If you want the business to execute without you carrying it, it will.
Why this is hard
The hero role feels productive and generous, but it's a tax on the company. It blocks ownership, trains the team to escalate, and keeps accountability theoretical. Teams have also seen initiatives come and go, so they wait to see if this one will stick. Pushback is inevitable. A system only works when it's installed, repeated, and enforced long enough to become culture.
You'll know you've crested the hill when someone other than you says, "We don't do it like that. We do it like this."
How it works
We start by defining what you want the business to deliver: time, profit, autonomy, and whatever optionality matters to you. Next, we assess what's happening inside the company and identify the right order to install the cadence so you get leverage quickly — quarter over quarter, not through heroics.
Then we install a quarterly planning rhythm that turns the most important priorities into clear, owned commitments. Weekly execution keeps those commitments moving, removes obstacles, and prevents the quarter from being hijacked by urgency.
The commitment
Every quarter you decide if the investment was worth it. If you can't say yes, the quarter is free. I'm not interested in engagements where you're unsure if you're getting value. You'll know.
What changes when it works
Within 90 days you shift from busy to directed. Priorities narrow. Ownership becomes clear. You build an execution rhythm that makes progress repeatable.
Over the following quarters, the company becomes easier to run and more valuable to own — while requiring less of you.
Next step
Schedule a 60-minute call to talk through your goals, the company's current state, and whether we're a fit. I work with a small number of founders at a time; if I can't help I'll tell you immediately.
